About Amy

Amy Underwood, OTR/L

Amy is an Occupational Therapist and Hatha Vinyasa Yoga Instructor who is passionate about providing high quality complementary and alternative therapy.

Amy graduated from Trinity College Dublin, Ireland, with a degree in Occupational Therapy (BSc.OT) in 2005. Since then she has worked and lived on three continents, providing rehabilitation services in hospitals, outpatient clinics and skilled nursing facilities, yoga studios as well as an international circus festival!

In 2017 she completed her 200 hour Yoga & Ayurveda Teacher Training on the island of Aegina in Greece. This training furthered her ability to provide yoga and Ayurveda as part of her holistic treatment plan.

Amy has over a decade’s experience treating a wide variety of conditions, including stroke, spinal cord injury, brain injury, orthopedic injuries, chronic pain and stress and a variety of pediatric conditions.

Using an integrative health model, she looks at the whole person, not just the injury, providing holistic, evidence based treatment for both individuals and groups.

Amy thoroughly enjoys creating therapeutic environments that reduce stress and foster wellness.

Amy Underwood OTR/L is registered with NBCOT, the National Board for Certification of Occupational Therapists, Licensed by the State of Michigan Occupational Therapy Board, and insured for private practice.
